In the meantime, lobbyists for the National Association of Broadcasting have made some progress in rallying support for their effort to block a radio royalty bill.
Resolutions in the House and Senate opposing a fee have added the support of 13 House members, bringing the total to 152 who’ve come out against a radio royalty. The latest additions include Reps. Robert Andrews (D-NJ), Spencer Bauchus (R-AL), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Rick Crawford (R-AR), Duncan Hunter (R-CA), James Lankford (R-OK), Frank Lucas (R-OK), Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM), Dan Maffei (D-NY), Candice Miller (R-MI), and Matt Salmon (R-AZ). Eleven Senators are also on record opposing a performance royalty for FM/AM radio.
