“It’s free, and you can see the ocean from your blanket on the green,” Hoffman said at the conference. “It doesn’t get any better than that.”
Some festival-goers will also have an opportunity to perform after taking a free 30-minute harmonica or ukelele lesson. At the end of the festival, all lesson takers over the course of the weekend will be invited to the main stage to showcase their new talents as a group.
As in the past, the festival will also feature “outerfest” activities through the weekend. The 11th annual Surfing the Blues Spring Surf Fest will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. and continue Sunday. Registration closes April 3 at floridasurfing.org.
