Grieving son receives $780 ambulance bill after his father DIED waiting 30 minutes for it to arrive | Mail Online

‘We’re still grieving about the situation,’ his son said. ‘(We’re) very angry about what happened and the service we did not receive from the district.’

The department says a fire engine with firefighters arrived nine minutes after the call – though all ambulances tied up on other calls.

DC City Councilwoman Yvette Alexander, who represents the Ford family‘s ward, said the fire and ambulance department does not usually bill families when the patient dies.

‘This seems quite unusual, and I will help the family resolve this matter,’ she told NBC Washington.
